Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Monday that both the Chicago Cubs and
Chicago White Sox will be allowed a limited number of in-person fans starting in
April. Both teams will be allowed to have 20% capacity in the stands starting on
opening day which means 8,122 fans for the Sox and 8,274 for the Cubs.

Fans will still have to follow Covid-19 protocols including being seated in pods to
facilitate social distancing, fans over age 2 will be required to wear masks, the
teams will use mobile ticketing and retail and concessions will be cashless. More
protocols and restrictions may be added as well.

The Sox home opener is scheduled for April 8 while the Cubs home opener is
scheduled for April 1.
