Here’s some good news we have all been waiting to hear. Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere wants to help keep the spirit of the holidays alive this year.

The zoo’s annual Christmas Time returns on November 13th. Come out for a great time and visit Santa’s Reindeer Barn with his entire sleigh team of Reindeer.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, there will be changes made to this event. Such as pictures with Santa, only on Saturdays and Sundays will Santa be available for socially distanced pictures and visits.

Taking precautions with the pandemic, the zoo suggests tickets be purchased in advance online at their website. There will be a limited amount of tickets sold each day.

They are also requiring that if you plan on coming out for their event to make sure you are socially distancing and wearing your mask.

Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere will now be open Friday through Sunday starting Nov. 13 lasting through Dec. 20th and will be open from 3-6 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. The zoo will also be open Dec. 21, 22, and 23 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
