The digital age is making fast food even faster and easier to order. Around half of purchases made by customers are now made through an app or online and many fast-food chains are redesigning their stores in order to provide an even faster experience and to avoid contact in lieu of the pandemic.

Adding a second drive-thru, Burger King’s additional lane will be specifically for online orders. While other restaurants are coming up with ideas to make picking up online orders easier.

“The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated trends that are already on their way to greater adaption,” Kara Nielsen, a Food Trend Expert says. “We will see more types of operators and restaurant chains adopt this.”
