ROCKFORD — Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity will kick off its construction season on Monday, and it wants you to help build the first walls.

The nonprofit is inviting anyone interested in volunteering to its Community Wall Building Day. It takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the construction site at 2901 Carol Place. No experience is necessary to help build.

“All you need is a willingness to work, learn and have fun,” the nonprofit wrote on its website.

The wall building day is open-house style, meaning you can work for as short or long as you like.

“Come swing a hammer over your lunch break, for the morning, or keep us company all day,” the nonprofit wrote.
