The Illinois EPA hosts a Household Hazardous Waste collection, 8am to 3pm, on September 19 at Belvidere Boone County at Belvidere-Administration Campus, 1212 Logan Avenue, Suite 102. Bring chemical cleaners, oil-based paints, thinners, antifreeze, motor oil, gasoline, kerosene, weed killers, insecticides and pesticides, old or outdated medication, fluorescent and other high-intensity discharge lamps. Not accepted: latex paint, explosives, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, agricultural chemicals and business wastes. Find the complete list here.
