New Country Music This Week: Luke Combs, Jordan Davis and more
New Country Music This Week:
Luke Combs – Back in the Saddle
The biggest release of the week is Luke Combs new single, “Back in the Saddle”. It’s his first single released since “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” which was put out on the soundtrack for 2024 summer blockbuster “Twisters”.
Luke has said that “Back in the Saddle” is his first release off his upcoming album which does not have a release date or title at this time.
To me, it sounds like Luke is trying to get back to his beginnings with this tune. It’s a familiar mix of rock and country and his powerful vocals all together to give you a new anthem to use in the gym or at the next pregame.
The music video for “Back in the Saddle” has features from racing legends Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Richard Petty.
Jordan Davis – Turn This Truck Around
Jordan Davis also has a new song out this week called, “Turn This Truck Around”.
Jordan lulls you into thinking that this will be a sleepy little song about feeling heartbroken, but then a powerful chorus erupts with a hope that he can move on from a tough-to-leave relationship.
Jordan keeps pumping out consistent hits, and this sounds like another song destined for the top!
Morgan Wallen – Miami (Remix, feat. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross)
Morgan Wallen has always been a genre bender, and his release this week furthers that. Morgan has remixed “Miami” to include rappers Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.
“Miami” was originally released on “I’m The Problem” and features a snippet of Keith Whitley’s “Miami, My Amy”
It’s certainly not traditional for country music, but as a listener of both Rick Ross and Lil Wayne in my youth, I’d have a hard time passing on an opportunity to collab with them.
Happy Listening!
