We thought we were in the clear with 2021 just days away but 2020 had more one surprise in store for the Stateline. Get your shovel out of your garage or snow blower… you’re going to need it.

According to Rockford Meteorologists, a winter storm warning will go into effect across all of Northern Illinois starting this afternoon and will remain in effect until mid-to-late-Wednesday morning. Starting with snow, sleet, and then freezing rain.

So how do you prepare for a big storm like this? One of the biggest risks that come from a big winter storm is the snowfall has the ability to knock out your electricity, heat, and sometimes communication services. Especially with a bad storm, this could last for a couple of days.
