Sunday’s OSD Headliners Parmalee Have a System For Exploring Food at the Fair

When the weather turns warm, so many of our favorite country artists’ schedules fill with fairs and festivals along every interstate across the country, and finding the best food at each stop can be a difficult (and risky) task.

Parmalee are set to close out Rockton’s Old Settlers Days 2024 this Sunday with the Rockton Lions Club, and The Morning Stampede caught up with singer Matt Thomas, who says the band has a pretty good system in place to make sure they know what their options are…as a team:

“You can’t beat a good corndog with mustard on it, that’s hard to beat, but we always give each other like $10-$20 and everybody goes their separate ways and we all meet back in like 20 minutes and see who has the best food…”

What’s the best they’ve ever found?

“…it was in South Carolina,  this lady in this little small trailer, and it was fried bologna sandwiches…and that’s rare to find those at the fairs, but I think that was the golden goose of all of ’em”
