Having friends and family who put their lives on hold to serve in our nations military is a big deal and one of the ways we can help those returning to civilian life is to help them find work outside the military
DAV and RecruitMilitary will host the Chicago Veterans Job Fair on Thursday, October 3rd from 11am to 3pm at Soldier Field. It’s totally free event for veterans, military spouses, transitioning military, National Guard members and Reservists features 70+ employers ready to hire.
These are companies looking for men and women who may have skills they picked up while serving at home or overseas that they can help transition to working in the private sector. A lot of former military end up in leadership or managerial roles thanks to their time in the service.
“But all my military friends HAVE jobs…” take a moment and share this story with some of your current of former military friends anyway so they might be able to tell THEIR military contacts. Just because you don’t know a soldier in need doesn’t mean they might not. Who knows? You might even be responsible for changing someone’s life!
