BELVIDERE — A car wash chain founded in Missouri is making its first entry into the local market.

Club Car Wash is under construction at 2002 Gateway Center Drive, which is next to Taco Bell and across the street from Walmart.

It is the first Club Car Wash under construction in the region. The company is also planning to build on Deery Drive in Loves Park in front of the recently shuttered Rockford Speedway racetrack.

The timeline for opening has not been shared. Messages to the company weren’t returned. It received its special-use permit from Belvidere City Council to operate on the site in July 2023.

Club Car Wash was founded in Missouri in 2006 at Tiger Express Wash, a family-owned business. It rebranded in February 2019 and expanded into Illinois a few months later.

Club Car Wash now has 150 locations across the country, with its most recent opening this month in Texas.

The company operates automated car washes with vacuum and parking stations. Its membership program allows you to wash as often as you like at any of its locations for a monthly price. The company says it has more than 475,000 members.
