ROSCOE — MembersAlliance Credit Union’s new location is taking shape north of Hononegah Road. The nonprofit financial cooperative expects to open the 2,600-square-foot branch in January.
The new branch is at 5110 Rockrose Court, just north of Beefaroo at the intersection of Hononegah Road and Illinois 251. Schmeling Construction broke ground on the project in April.
The branch will replace the location inside Walmart at 4781 E. Rockton Road, where MembersAlliance has operated for more than 15 years.

The new location provides customers with drive-thru access and MembersAlliance with more visibility at the intersection. It also continues the credit union’s commitment to the Roscoe and Rockton area, which includes providing financial education financial education at Roscoe Middle School and Hononegah Highs School, said Matthew Lynch, vice president of branding and development for MembersAlliance.
“Roscoe and Rockton continues to be a great fit for us in supporting the community and providing our products and services to our members and community members,” Lynch said.
MembersAlliance dates back to 1938 when it was formed by a small group of Sundstrand employees. It has now grown to more than 20,000 members and is the largest locally owned credit union. It has thee locations in Rockford, as well as the Roscoe branch.
“The products and services are truly designed with the member or customer in mind,” Lynch said. “The mindset behind the credit union is how can we best serve our members and help them improve their financial goals.”

MembersAlliance is celebrating its 85th year in business this weekend with a community celebration at Rock Valley College in Rockford.

About: MembersAlliance Credit Union will celebrate 85 years serving the community with a family-friendly celebration that includes bouncy houses, bouncy obstacle courses, jumbo joust, a foam party for kids, pumpkin painting, live music, food trucks, yard games and photo booths.
