ROCKFORD — This week’s movie night at the Nordlof Center’s JR Sullivan Theater features the 1992 classic “A League of Their Own,” which brought the Rockford Peaches to the silver screen.

The doors open at 6 p.m. Friday and the screening begins at 7:15 p.m. at the theater, 118 N. Main St., in downtown. It costs $7 to get in and all proceeds go toward the Rockford Public Library Foundation to support programming at the new main library on Wyman Street.

Ernie’s Midtown Pub is organizing the monthly movie series and will provide a full cash bar with specialty themed cocktails. It will also serve pulled pork sandwiches and Mrs. Fisher’s potato chips or pulled pork nachos for $10 each, no meat nachos $8 and candy is available for $3. The Rockford Public Library will provide complementary popcorn and the International Women’s Baseball Center will be on hand with Rockford Peaches T-shirts, hats and pennants for sale.
