ROCKFORD — Screw City Jeeps 815 has partnered with several organizations to put on a free music and food festival to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
Cinco de Mayo Jeeps & Tacos is slated for 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 5 in the lot next to Don Carter Lanes, 4007 E. State St.

There is no cost for admission, but anyone who brings one or more nonperishable food items for the Rock River Valley Food Pantry will receive a raffle ticket to win a prize basket.
Proceeds will also be donated to Domingos en el Parque, a music and entertainment series that’s been running for more than two decades at Levings Lake Park in southwest Rockford.
Cinco de Mayo Jeeps & Tacos features Jeeps, Broncos, street cars and motorcycles on display. There is also a taco competition and hottest torta ahogada eating competition.
There will be more than 15 food trucks and 30 vendors, an area for alcoholic beverages, bull riding, bouncy activities for kids, DJs, live music from La Inkonfundible Banda 30/30 and Rafael Peinado EL RP, and the Grupo de Baile Mosaico cultural dancers.
